To help demonstrate some of the most creative applications of its new products for textured surface graphics, 3M Graphics Market Center has announced a new contest—“Wrap a Rough Wall to Win!”
The contest, which requires use of 3M™ Scotchcal™ Graphic Film for Textured Surfaces IJ8624 and the companion 3M™ Scotchcal™ Luster Overlaminate for Textured Surfaces 8524, offers sign manufacturers the chance to showcase their applications of this revolutionary new graphic technology and win big prizes.
These unique new products make it possible to convert difficult to use textured surfaces—concrete block, brick, stucco—into promotional real estate featuring easy-to-install and remove graphics that are paint-like and can be photo-realistic.
The graphics manufacturer grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 gift certificate for a “Wall of Entertainment” home theatre system or other electronics of their choice. In addition, the winner will be authorized to use the 2008 “Wrap a Rough Wall to Win” winner emblem.
In addition, the brand owner of the winning wrap will win a $2,000 cash award.
The top 25 finalists will take home 3M NASCAR® jackets, hats and the right to display the 2008 “Wrap a Rough Wall to Win” finalist emblem.
Judging criteria will include the impact of the wrap on the brand owner’s business or organization, the aesthetic appeal of the wrap, use of space and the professionalism of the installation. Judges will include members of the Society for Environmental Graphics Design (SEGD) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Winners will be announced at the Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) show in Atlanta next October. Entries of the 25 finalists will be displayed in the 3M booth.
