Tubelite traces its history back to 1928. Samuel C. Miller, an engineer and inventor, started Tube Light Engineering Company on the West Side of Manhattan in New York City to manufacture electrodes for neon signs. Mr. Miller received patents for his inventions of housings and porcelain insulators used with neon tubes.
After World War II, Mr. Miller formed a partnership with Edward R. Samuels and Lewis M. Bradley. In 1964, the partnership was incorporated. Under the control of Leon H. Jaffe and Edwin H. McCarter, the company expanded and now operates a total of nine branches.
Today, Tubelite has gone way beyond its neon roots, becoming one of the largest supply companies for the sign, screen printing, and digital imaging industries.
